Required Experience:

Overview:

The Senior Development/Major Gifts Officer plans and implements strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of fundraising prospects and donors for TERI Inc (Training, Education and Resources Institute). Reporting to the CEO, this role will work closely with the executive leadership team to formulate, manage, and implement fundraising for TERI, to include capital campaigns, major and principal gifts, annual giving programs, community engagement and volunteer activities.




Essential Responsibilities:


Fundraising Strategy, Leadership & Collaboration

Collaborate with the CEO, executive leadership and the Board to set annual fundraising goals and create and prioritize major donor prospect lists.
Develop and execute a comprehensive annual strategic development plan to meet or exceed the financial goals of the organization. Manage and expand TERI’s donor pipeline, including individuals, foundations, corporate and community partners, and government agencies.
Align departmental strategies with organizational goals, set and achieve annual departmental goals and direct team activity to support campaign execution. Develop and maintain appropriate processes and systems to support fundraising, including but not limited to volunteer and donor management, research and major gift cultivation, gift processing and recognitions. Monitor and report quarterly on fundraising and marketing results, ensuring objectives are met.
Lead and mentor the development team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration and success. Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in fundraising and marketing.
Donor Engagement & Stewardship

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and foundations. Implement a donor stewardship plan to ensure continued engagement and long-term commitment. Direct efforts in donor recognition, impact reporting, and targeted outreach campaigns.
Grants & Corporate Partnerships

Direct internal and external grants teams to develop compelling proposals, applications, LOIs, and reports for government, corporate, private foundations, and donor-advised funds.
Work collaboratively with leadership team to align funding goals with organizational needs, strengthen relationships with corporate sponsors and seek strategic partnerships that align with TERI’s mission.
Marketing & Communications

Working collaboratively with Marketing, direct the development of compelling donor communications, annual reports, and fundraising appeals and ensure consistent, clear, and compelling development messaging across all communication channels.
Direct development team to represent and raise awareness of TERI at community events, networking functions, and public speaking engagements.

Qualifications:

Demonstrate expert organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills. Demonstrate project and program management skills, including skills in setting and meeting program and project goals and objectives within budget and time constraints.
Demonstrate exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills, including political acumen, to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies. Communicate effectively one-on-one or in group settings, taking into account differences in social, cultural, professional, and educational backgrounds.
Demonstrate expertise with industry-standard software, project management tools and fundraising/donor management platforms such as Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Asana, Monday.com, Bloomerang, Raiser’s Edge or similar. Experience with CRMs and marketing tools such as Saleforce.com, HubSpot, MailChimp, Canva and Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
Adhere to and demonstrate the highest ethical standards in management, governance, and fund development. Convey a professional and positive attitude regarding the organization and the not-for-profit sector. Demonstrate commitment to continued professional growth and development.
