Required Experience:
Qualifications
● Master’s degree in Education, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field (Doctorate preferred)
● Minimum of 7–10 years of senior leadership experience in education, nonprofit management, or a related sector, with proven success in fundraising, partnerships, and strategic planning
● Demonstrated commitment to educational equity, community empowerment, and culturally responsive leadership
● Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
● Familiarity with charter school governance, urban school contexts, and Florida education policy preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS
● Master’s degree from an accredited educational institution (Doctorate preferred)
● Five + years of full-time, paid, professional educational experience, two of which have been as a Principal, Assistant Principal or educational administrator at the elementary and/or middle school level
● Valid and Current Florida Certification in Education Leadership or its equivalent

Essential Functions
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of Nap Ford Community School, Inc., responsible for advancing the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of the organization. This leader works directly with the Board of Directors to develop and implement a bold vision to position the school as a flagship model for urban education in Florida and beyond. The Executive Director oversees all organizational operations, ensuring excellence in instruction, innovation in programming, sustainability in funding, and engagement across the broader community.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership and Vision
● Develop and lead implementation of the school’s long-range strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
● Monitor progress toward key performance indicators, including academic growth, enrollment, and financial sustainability.
● Position Legends Academy as a leading institution in urban education through thought leadership and innovation.
2. Board and Governance
● Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors, providing timely reports, strategic counsel, and recommendations.
● Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal regulatory requirements.
● Assist the Board in identifying and cultivating new members and supporters.
3. Partnership Development and Fundraising
● Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, community organizations, businesses, faith-based institutions, and governmental entities.
● Lead all fundraising efforts, including capital campaigns, annual giving, grants, sponsorships, and major donor cultivation.
● Secure financial investments to support the school’s operations and long-term sustainability.
4. Marketing, Public Relations, and Advocacy
● Oversee internal and external communications, branding, and public engagement strategies to elevate the school’s visibility and reputation.
● Serve as the public face and primary spokesperson for the school in media, political, and philanthropic circles.
● Advocate for charter school support and equitable educational resources at the local and state level.
5. Organizational and Staff Development
● Directly supervise and support the Director of Teaching and Learning to ensure strong daily school operations and instructional leadership.
● Foster a positive, mission-driven organizational culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
● Develop and implement staff recruitment, retention, and professional development systems aligned to school goals.
6. Data-Driven Decision Making
● Lead data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of the school, including academic performance, financial health, enrollment, and community impact.
● Ensure that data informs strategic planning, board reporting, grant proposals, and partner engagement.
