Full job description
About UCCR

We have successfully managed nonprofit camps, conference and retreat centers since 1970. From historic Cape Cod to the snow-covered Colorado Rockies to the towering San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California, we partner with property owners to provide comprehensive facility management services. That’s not it, though.

Just last year, over 8,000 K-12 students benefited from our WOLF School’s California state standards-based residential outdoor science school and team building program.

Help Wanted: President/CEO

A member of staff since 1998, our President / CEO will be retiring in mid-2026.

Why you should review our scope of operations and services.

Current executive level operations and administrative job seekers will be surprised with the “soup to nuts” capability of UCCR, especially if your responsibility has been focused on fewer than 10 properties.

Outdoor education executives with a strong foundation in operations management will appreciate just what it takes for WOLF School to educate and care for 8,000 students over the course of a year.

Many candidates will be impressed with the Administrative services: finance & accounting; reservations; human resources & payroll, marketing & advertising; risk & insurance; and regulatory compliance UCCR delivers to the properties we manage.

Why you should consider the role of President/CEO at UCCR.

16 committed Director-level staff members, each of our wonderful nonprofit property owner partners and UCCR’s Board of Directors will be looking for you to lead the company well into the next decade.

If this sort of opportunity along with this level of responsibility compliments your substantial nonprofit leadership record, then you should certainly consider the role.

Work from home?

Yes, this is a 100% remote position. Candidates from the Santa Cruz County, SF Bay Area, and Sacramento area are at an advantage due to UCCR operating 6 facilities in Northern California.

Are you a fit with this position and our mission?

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced leader looking to make a significant impact within our organization. If you are passionate about driving success through effective leadership and strategic vision, we encourage you to apply.

Here are the details you are expecting.

The Board of Directors has certain responsibilities for the staffing, review, and guidance provided to the President/CEO who, in turn, is responsible for providing leadership in support of the mission and vision of United, Camps, Conferences & Retreats (UCCR). The President/CEO is responsible for directing the work of all other members of the staff in conformity with policies adopted by the Board of Directors.

This position has a primary impact on the overall effectiveness with which UCCR accomplishes its mission and objectives in service to its property owner groups, outdoor science education groups, and the community. The President/CEO will provide operational and budgetary leadership to the Site Directors, Director of Site Operations (DSO), WOLF School Director, and Administrative Directors to ensure the highest levels of facilities management, outdoor education programming, and administrative services are being provided to UCCR’s stakeholders. The President/CEO will be reviewed annually against the listed areas of responsibility. The Board Chair or their designee will ensure that a performance review is conducted according to the annual Board calendar.
