Major Gift Officer


Job Title: Major Gift Officer
Location: East Coast Region
Reports to: Director of Development
Status: Full-time – Hybrid

About UMR:
UMR is looking for dynamic, self-motivated fundraisers who are passionate about humanitarian work. In this position, the Major Gift Officer (MGO) will manage a portfolio of prospective and current individual donors and be responsible for cultivating and stewarding donors through the donor life cycle.

This position requires domestic travel, especially to nearby cities and states, working during non-traditional hours such as nights and weekends.

Essential Job Functions:

Help our donors achieve their philanthropic goals by connecting them with our organization and programs
Secure major gifts at the $5,000 to $100,000 level
Utilize Moves Management to track and cultivate donors and prospects, leveraging Salesforce to track all relevant details.
Manage a portfolio of 50-150 major donors and prospects.
Create and implement customized plans for individual donors, utilizing emails, phone calls, letters, and face-to-face visits to build toward solicitation.
Develop plans for outreach and gift solicitation with community centers, corporations, foundations, and local businesses, as well as one-on-one, major gift solicitation.
Plan for and implement fundraising events and programs.
Monitor the progress of fundraising programs.
Develop strategies to increase fundraising revenues.
Coordinate and collaborate with the Development team to meet organizational goals.
Communicate with organizations and community centers.
Compiles and maintains updated materials related to office and fieldwork.
Maintain an updated database of donors, organizations, and community centers.
Attend community events, meetings, or conferences to promote organizational goals and programs.
Complete and conduct reporting requirements according to the organization’s standards and requirements.
Manage financial procedures such as fund collection process, deposits, data entry, and reporting.
Prepare presentations to promote the organization’s fundraising programs and brand.
