Required Experience:

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
10 years of experience working in a Social Enterprise and community development.
5 years of experience in an executive leadership role.
Knowledge of philanthropy and public grants.
Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking communication.
Ability and willingness to work remotely and able to travel nationally and internationally.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other specialty software and programs as required.
Strong orientation to details and organization.
Writing proposal experience.
Bilingual in English or Spanish.

What You’ll Be Doing
Direct Program Support:
Work closely with the Executive team to fulfil established funding agreements and identify new potential opportunities.
Oversee the acquisition and use of funds, securing and nurturing funding streams from various sources, including government institutions, faith-based donors, and private philanthropists.
Monitor budget and financial reports, maintaining continuous awareness and accountability for the fiscal stability of the programs and Urban Strategies.
Collaborate with Finance, Human Resources, and Communication Teams to positively impact fundraising, public relations, and community involvement.
Create staffing plans, make hiring decisions, and conduct annual reviews and compensation assessments with Executive Directors.
Demonstrate servant leadership, offering guidance and support to team members, encouraging personal growth and development.
Identify new opportunities and build program strategies
Compliance and Performance Management:
Ensure team members maintain compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
Develop and communicate performance metrics to assess effectiveness and evaluate performance.
Cross trains and coaches in areas that are identified for development as needed.
Practice emotional and cultural intelligence, with integrity that aligns with Urban Strategies' core values.
Strategic and Leadership Duties:
Lead the development and implementation of programmatic strategic plans by setting annual goals that align programs with the 5-year target.
Maintaining consistent communication with the Executive Director to ensure cross-collaboration, and fostering thought leadership, problem-solving, and success.
Foster an environment of collaboration, agility, and financial health, WHILE creating a forward-thinking culture within Urban Strategies.
Identify barriers to operational and programmatic excellence.
Establish and maintain relationships critical to the organization's growth and success, representing Urban Strategies in the community and engaging with partners, donors, and stakeholders.
Promote Urban Strategies work establishing relationships with key stakeholders to expand and develop new opportunities in both regional and national locations.

General Description
Urban Strategies Vice President of Programs performs functions to establish and implement Urban Strategist’s mission, vision, core values (DNA) and strategic direction. The Vice President of Programs oversees and provides leadership in developing programs, organizational, and financial plans, and ensure the sustaining value of the organization to the community it serves. Other key responsibilities include promoting US’s work and establishing relationships with key stakeholders in both regional and national locations, as well as utilizing these relationships in effort to expand and develop new opportunities.

About You
You should be a strategic thinker in the development, integration and expansion of organizational program design. Demonstrate the ability to inspire trust and can delegate responsibilities with insight and fair execution. Able to work well under pressure while always trying to keep people’s humanity at the forefront of your interactions.
