Required Experience:

Education and Experience:

At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience, with a minimum of 2 years at an executive leadership level and development experience.
Executive/managerial experience in food security organizations is preferred but not required.
Corporate executive experience is preferred but not required.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with staff, Board members, volunteers, community leaders, donors, and partner agencies.
Ability to interact, present, and influence the donor community to strengthen and support development efforts.
Demonstrated, highly-effective leadership skills – create vision, define strategy, drive growth, manage risk, ability to influence, managerial courage, demonstrate passion for the mission.
Innovator with proven ability to be open, creative and lead through change.
Sound judgement, problem-solving and decision-making skills; critical thinker who can grasp and discern information across a broad array of topics.
High ethics and integrity.
Effective communication skills and ability to effectively use various communication channels, including social media.
Ability to work nights and weekends for scheduled meetings and events.
Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Proof of meeting Oklahoma State auto licensure requirements with a valid driver’s license.
Reports to: Board Chair, Executive Committee and Board of Directors

Status: Salary, Full Time, Some Evenings and Weekends Required, Position is Exempt

Position Overview:

Broken Arrow Neighbors (BAN) is a comprehensive community resource center in the heart of the Rose District that provides emergency food and financial assistance in the Broken Arrow and Coweta areas.

The Executive Director will advance the position of BAN and provide comprehensive oversight to daily operations including programmatic, financial, staff management, and fundraising.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

STRATEGIC DIRECTION

Collaborate with the Board to refine and implement strategic plan and recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve strategic goals.
Ensure that Board communications and interactions are timely, accurate, and transparent.
Maintain current knowledge on emerging trends and developments that can affect the agency and its mission, vision, and values.
Possess a forward-thinking mindset and ability to conceptualize innovative strategies and solutions that drive organizational growth and success.
LEADERSHIP

Lead the staff in adoption of the strategic directions approved by the Board of Directors to ensure the agency meets the goals and objectives articulated in the plan.
Demonstrate empathy and compassion towards staff members, fostering a supportive and positive work environment.
Motivate staff to achieve organizational goals by developing and implementing strategies that encourage a high-performing work culture.
Encourage an open and collaborative work environment by building strong relationships with the team through transparent communication.
Create an empowering work environment where team members are encouraged to take ownership, make decisions, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
MANAGEMENT AND OVERSIGHT

Demonstrate financial acumen and the ability to analyze and manage financial data.
Development and oversight of the budget and financial statement preparation.
Manage operations within board approved budget, and provide timely, accurate, and transparent financial reports to the board and funders.
Maintain records and prepare for submission of Form 990 and the annual and bi-annual audits.
DEVELOPMENT & MARKETING

Possess a proven record in stewardship and development.
Cultivate strong community partnerships and build connections with current and potential donors.
Create and execute an annual fundraising plan including objectives and strategies for giving from individuals, corporations, foundations, public sources, and grants.
Maintain accurate reports related to agency fundraising in the CRM.
Research and write grants as part of the annual fundraising plan.
Serve as public spokesperson for the agency, including making presentations, speeches and media appearances.
Plan and executive PR and communications initiatives including social media and website strategy.
PROGRAMMING

Oversee the ongoing evaluation of program effectiveness, collecting and analyzing data to inform program improvement and expansion.
Develop and implement innovative programs and services aligned with the organization's mission and strategic goals, ensuring maximum impact and community benefit.
HUMAN RESOURCES RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead planning and oversight related to employee benefit programs.
Secure and maintain compliance and accountability with Board-ratified policies addressed in the Employee Handbook and/or discern or seek appropriate counsel regarding matters that are not directly specified in the Handbook.
Maintain strict confidentiality with records and other information that may be assigned.
